SSGServ Founder & CEO Faizan Kanth on why India-Gulf collaboration on engineering and technology GCCs is becoming a strategic priority ,building on the company’s recent work on Saudi engineering projects.
As Gulf economies continue investing heavily in infrastructure, technology, and digital transformation, one Bengaluru-founded Global Capability Center (GCC) operator is positioning itself directly at that intersection. SSGServ, led by Founder & CEO Faizan Kanth, has identified India-Gulf collaboration as a defining part of its next growth phase ,grounded in a decade of building global delivery capability from India.
From Frontline Operations to Founding a GCC Company
Kanth’s path to founding SSGServ in 2015 ran through operations, strategy, technology, and customer experience roles across EMEA, APAC, and North America. An IIM Bangalore alumnus and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, he built the company on a simple premise: global businesses don’t need vendors supplying headcount ,they need genuine operating capability. That thesis now underpins SSGServ’s approach to the Gulf market specifically.
“The Gulf Is Investing Heavily. India Has the Talent.”
Kanth is direct about the opportunity he sees: “The Gulf is investing heavily in infrastructure, technology, engineering and digital transformation, while India has an enormous pool of technical and operational talent. We believe the two ecosystems can complement each other extremely well.” SSGServ’s recent engineering GCC work on Saudi Arabian projects is, in his words, an early example of that complementarity ,not simply outsourcing work to India, but building dedicated capability under the client’s own brand and governance.
A Delivery Model Built for Cross-Border Continuity
That positioning is backed by real infrastructure. SSGServ operates an 8,000-seat primary GCC in Bengaluru with a 2,000-seat geo-redundant backup hub in Srinagar/Mysore, alongside a regional hub network spanning six continents ,including a dedicated Dubai presence within its global footprint. The company’s Follow-the-Sun delivery model is designed to guarantee service continuity across geographies and time zones rather than relying on a single delivery location, with more than 20 million transactions processed annually across the network for over 50 global brands.
SSGServ’s service portfolio spans Global Technology & CCaaS, Data Center & Infrastructure, Global Engineering Services (mechanical, electrical, civil, MEP, and CAD), Finance & Accounting across 30+ jurisdictions, and Business Process & CX ,the breadth of which Kanth positions as directly relevant to Gulf enterprises pursuing large-scale infrastructure, engineering, and digital transformation programs simultaneously.
The GCC Model vs. Traditional Outsourcing ,Why It Matters for Gulf Buyers
Kanth built SSGServ specifically to close the gap between traditional outsourcing ,transactional, vendor-managed, and cost-driven ,and a fully captive operation, which demands capital and management bandwidth many organisations, including Gulf-based enterprises scaling new initiatives, can’t justify building from scratch. SSGServ’s GCC model instead offers a dedicated capability with the client’s own governance, culture, and standards, without the full infrastructure burden of an in-house build.
“The GCC model changes the conversation from ‘how many people can you provide?’ to ‘what capability can you help us build?'” Kanth says. “We believe the future of global services will be less about simply moving work from one country to another and much more about building strategic capabilities that are integrated with the client’s business.”
Talent Beyond the Obvious Hubs
A distinctive part of SSGServ’s pitch to international clients, including those in the Gulf, is its deliberate move beyond India’s traditional technology centers ,Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune ,into Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Kanth argues capability shouldn’t be equated with geography: “If you provide the right infrastructure, training, leadership, processes and exposure, talent in smaller cities can compete globally.” The company’s Srinagar/Mysore hub is the clearest expression of that belief, and one Kanth sees as increasingly relevant to Gulf clients evaluating where to source specialised engineering and technology capability at scale.
What’s Next
Over the next five years, Kanth wants SSGServ recognised globally as a capability partner rather than an outsourcing vendor, with continued investment in specialised GCCs, engineering, AI-enabled operations, and global CX ,and India-Gulf collaboration positioned as one of the company’s clearer strategic bets. “My five-year vision is simple,” he says. “I want SSGServ to help organisations build capabilities that become strategic assets to their businesses.”
