India Stands Strong: WCL Exit in Honor of National Sentiment

The highly anticipated World Championship of Legends (WCL) semi-final clash between
India Champions and Pakistan Champions is likely to be called off. We learned that most
Indian players are in favor of boycotting the match due to ongoing geopolitical tensions
between the two countries.

Sources revealed that the Indian team is expected to take a stance similar to the one it
adopted during the group-stage fixture against Pakistan, which was officially cancelled.
That decision had come in the wake of Operation Sindoor and saw strong opposition from
several senior Indian players.

  • The India Champions team includes prominent former crricketers like Yuvraj Singh,Shikhar Dhawan, Yusuf Pathan, Irfan Pathan, and Piyush Chawla. The team had qualifiedfor the semifinals after a dominant win over West Indies Champions, chasing the target in just 13.2 overs.WCL has officially announced the withdrawal of the India Champions side from the upcoming semi-final , citing its consistent policy of not participating in matches involvingPakistan. The semifinal was scheduled for July 30.
  • The earlier group-stage match between India and Pakistan was also cancelled, following
protests from Indian players and one of the league’s principal sponsors. Former cricketers
including Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan had publicly declared they would not take part
    in the fixture.
